Igor Crnomarić is a Croatian war veteran and long-standing social activist born in Slavonski Brod, whose life path has been profoundly shaped by his experience in the Homeland War and subsequent work in the community. As a member of the 139th Brigade and units on the southern front, he was severely wounded during combat operations, after which he began a new chapter in life marked by rehabilitation, military service, and active involvement in social and public life. He retired with the rank of captain and for years held responsible positions in veterans’ associations, including President of HVIDR-a Bjelovar, member and President of the Committee for Croatian Veterans of the City of Bjelovar, city councilor, and advisor to the mayor on veterans’ affairs.
In the Peacemakers Association, he serves as coordinator of the “Peacemaker” project for Bjelovar-Bilogora County, where through his personal experience, authority, and years of work with the veteran and local community, he contributes to the implementation of programs aimed at promoting a culture of peace, tolerance, and social responsibility.
