On Friday in Imotski, on the occasion of the ceremonial celebration of the Day of the Vocational and Industrial School, Marijan Gubina was a guest of the special program.
Osijek humanitarian and peacemaker Marijan Gubina spent 260 days in a camp near Vukovar, together with his entire family.
Gubina transferred his harrowing fate to paper in an autobiography titled “260 Days,” which is how long his captivity lasted.
Despite everything Marijan Gubina went through, he delivered a lecture to the students and staff of the Vocational and Industrial School and the Technical School, in which he condemns all hatred and promotes non-violence and tolerance. Those present in the full school atrium listened to his lecture with great interest. He told them not to be ashamed to show and give love, to try to find at least a little good in every situation, even the most difficult, and to strive to take responsibility for all their actions and inactions.
After the lecture, recitations, and musical performances, the students and staff of the Vocational and Industrial School in Imotski lit candles in memory of the victims of Vukovar.
