Recent history does not record any instance worldwide where the police played such a significant role in the creation and defense of their state as the Croatian police did.
Full of patriotism and self-confidence, the employees of the Ministry of Interior, known as MUP-OVCI, voluntarily sacrificed themselves for the defense of the homeland and the establishment of the order and peace in which we live today.
As a token of gratitude and to prevent the true heroes, the MUP-OVCI, from being forgotten, the Mirotvorci association, under the patronage of the Ministry of Interior, launched the MUP-OVCI project. This project consists of a documentary film of the same name, lasting 52 minutes, and a series of short documentary films titled MUP-OVCI with subtitles: Dalj, Borovo Selo, Plitvice, Vukovar, Struga Banska (and hopefully others).
The objectives of the MUP-OVCI documentary film are:
To pay tribute to all deceased and missing members of the Ministry of Interior; to express gratitude to all Ministry of Interior members who participated in the defense of the homeland;
To thank all Ministry of Interior employees who continue to sacrifice themselves in various ways today, ensuring security and a peaceful living environment for us citizens.
31.7.2026. On the eve of the commemoration of the Dalj tragedy, in which the largest number of Ministry of Interior members perished in one place during the Homeland War, we are organizing a solemn premiere and screening of the documentary film MUP-OVCI – DALJ, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Croatia and the Osijek-Baranja County Police Department.
